Hello. My client and I are having trouble with WooCommerce on their site. We recently updated pictures of two of their products, the Lipotropic Super MIC under Latest Products, when we found that instead of saving as a 44:59 aspect ratio thumbnail as per the settings they instead saved as the original at 1:1 scaled down.
I checked the image and WooCommerce isn’t using the thumbnail image in the updated images like it should be. It’s doing this both on the Homepage, the Shop under Lipotropic Fat Burners and the Related Products on the product pages.
We have tried regenerating thumbnails and turning off plugins and witching themes to check for conflicts but the problem persisted. We have run out of ideas and need help with fixing this issue.
The website uses Porto Theme Version: 4.11.1 and WooCommerce Version 7.3.0. Please let us know if you know what might be the issue and how we can fix it. Thank you.

Also, I generated a new report as well. My client rolled back the version number on WooCommerce, WooCommerce Blocks and PayPal. He said they were causing PayPal transaction problems.

Let me know if this helps. The images are still the scaled down originals and not the thumbnails like they should be. Would reuploading the images help? Would WooCommerce regenerate the image and use the proper thumbnails in this earlier version? If you look at the site, the images for the Super MIC bottles should be the same size as the other product images.

May I ask, can you try one more time, making sure to disable the plugins Regenerate Thumbnails and YITH WooCommerce Review Reminder Premium (This last one is appearing in the error log). Is the same result?
I can see that the image of the product LIPOTROPIC SUPER MIC FAT BURNER WITH B12 METHYLCOBALAMIN, L-CARNITINE, L-ARGININE & VITAMIN C (100ML), is not 44:59 aspect ratio by default, but it is 600 x 600 pixels. You can use an image editor, to make it 44:59 aspect ratio and then upload it again, I understand this is not the solution you are expecting, but you can try to check if this possibility makes a difference.

Hello Igor. Yes, the settings under Appearance > Customize > WooCommerce > Product Images are where the 44:59 aspect ratio has been set under Custom. Plugins aren’t used to set the WooCommerce thumbnail sizes.
We’ve also already tried the recommendations under the article that you linked. They were the first things we tried and they didn’t work. We tried adjusting the settings or resizing the image to 1000 x 1000px but nothing changed. The settings seem to be ignored and instead the original images are getting posted instead of a thumbnail. The client also needs the original images to be square so they aren’t cropped on Google so I can’t make the original images match the thumbnail aspect ratio.

The non-thumbnailed ones seem to be not only not loading thumbnails but they also have height and width settings that that originals don’t. Is this a change in how WooCommerce generates product images for the shop and product galleries or would this be due to theme settings. We use Porto theme for the website. Hello Igor. I’ve checked this previously, but I’m afraid it does not with help our current problem. It is not our original image sizes that are the problem, it’s that WooCommerce is not generating and displaying the thumbnails that it is set to display. That’s the problem we need help with.

Just to note, the original image, scaled down, is supposed to be displayed in those places. A fact that I verified by further testing with a test installation of mine.
How possible is it that further customization was in place at your installation earlier on, that is not functioning as expected anymore?

I went ahead with checking out the store’s Homepage, Shop page (screenshot one, two, three), and a product’s “Related products” section. Everything looked as expected.
Just to clarify, how are you currently importing the images at the store? It appears that utilizing a layered template file, with a program like Photoshop, will assist with making sure all images are positioned as desired in the image’s canvas, and therefore appear homogeneously on the store’s front-end.

We do use Photoshop for the images. However, as I mentioned, the issue is not the images themselves, it’s that the 44:59 aspect ratio thumbnail that is supposed to be generating and displaying is not being used as it should be and as it has been set under the settings.
Hello. As a response to the question of if the WooCommerce or WordPress core has been modified, no, they haven’t. Core files for either haven’t been changed. We’ve tried using WooCommerce 7.3.0 and we’ve tried rolling back to 6.9.2 and the issue is present in both.
My client has asked if the version of WordPress would have an effect. The site is currently using WP 6.1.1. Would that have any effect?
As I mentioned, the problem is the thumbnails aren’t being displayed as they should and have been previously. We’re trying to fix this so all images display at the same aspect ratio.
