So I run a web server from an old laptop (linux) and installed WP on it. I can’t give a link because my server is really unsecure at the moment… But I have a bunch of categories like home, anime, manga, work, tv, etc, just a personal website…
Right now everything I post goes straight to the home page and not to the category. Like say I wanted to update the anime category with whatever series I watched, it never posts to the anime category.
What I want is just a brief intro on the main page/home page (like a post or two explaining the site) and then users would have to click on each category at the top to explore the site further.
I want certain posts only going to certain categories. I don’t want something from the anime category showing up in the tv show category.
I have done some research and found something called page2cat and a bunch of other addons/extensions/whatever you want to call it.
I do all the updates on the server myself, so I do run into a lot of problems but I figure them out, so I would say I’m pretty tech savy.
I hope this makes sense and I can provide more info if need be. And I’m running Ubuntu 13.04 on an old laptop, but still works great.
