[Resolved] New Posts Cause 404, Pages Still OK.

  • Hi everyone,

    I’ve had a WordPress site for over two years now and everything has worked fine. All of a sudden, today, I put up a new post and all the links to it cause 404. The post exists; it’s in my Dashboard and it shows up in the blog, but I can’t link to it anywhere.

    From my limited knowledge, it seems this problem usually has to do with .htaccess. My permalink structure is /%postname%. When I originally set it this way and fixed my .htaccess for it, I had no problem. In fact, new Pages still work — only Posts can’t be linked to.

    My .htaccess has this information in it:

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

    # END WordPress
    ErrorDocument 404 http://NotMyRealWebsiteAddress.net/404.html

    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>

    RewriteEngine On

    RewriteBase /

    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.NotMyRealWebsiteAddress.net$

    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.NotMyRealWebsiteAddress.net/$1 [R=301,L]

    RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9}\ /(([^/]+/)*)index\.html\ HTTP/

    RewriteRule index\.html$ http://www.NotMyRealWebsiteAddress.net/%1 [R=301,L]

    I have no idea where to begin fixing this. Obviously, I don’t want to change my permalink structure and ruin months of work getting links to my site, etc. Can anyone help?

    Thank you,
