Swiftype has been working great but I noticed today that our posts from the past few weeks haven’t been getting indexed.

I manually reindexed in the Swiftype WordPress settings but the posts are still not showing in the results.

One strange behavior I noticed was that immediately after reindexing the total number of indexed documents was 546.

I then refreshed the Swifttype WordPress settings page and the total number of indexed documents was 517.

I’ve considered recreating the search engine but wanted to post here first. Please let me know if you have suggestions for ensuring that all my posts are making it into the index.

    Thanks,

    Alex

After more investigation I discovered that everything on and after 1/29/2013 wasn’t getting indexed, which is the date of the 1.1.12 release.

I checked the dev log and noticed a commit in the 1.1.12 release for only indexing new posts and pages. Since I use custom post types I’m guessing that this new commit is what is causing the issues.

Is there a reason why custom post types are no longer being supported?

Also, I forgot to link to my site: http://noshon.it

    Thanks,

    Alex

    Hello,

Thank you for the detail. We have re-enabled indexing of custom post types after working out some edge-cases with them. You should see your new content indexing properly.

    Best,
    Quin, Swiftype
