New post images not appearing in Google Search

Hello all,

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post, please let me know if not.

I am also not entirely sure if this is a WP issue, a Theme one, (avada) or a plugin one.

I first noticed the featured images no longer appear in new posts. then I realized this may actually be affecting all the images in new blog posts, as I cannot find any in search.

Older blog posts work fine and are showing both featured images and post images in search.

This started to happen after I updated to the latest version of WP and my blog theme, as well as few plugins

Has anyone experienced something similar recently?

Do you have an example where the feature image can be seen? Just so that you have a comparison.

Thanks, yes all the older posts are ok. I’ve tried to compare the settings and configurations but all seem equal. It also appears to be all the images in those posts, not just the featured ones. The featured ones as the ones that made me realise there is an issue because they are also missing in on the search console insights. Older ones are ok there too.

Mmh, I’m just wondering where the feature image should be displayed there? My view looks like this:

Is it the 1st image after the 1st text paragraph? If so, it’s also present in the other article and I don’t see the problem right now.

Yes the images within the posts are fine, the problem is in search. I’ve tried google and also bing seems to be the same, no images from new posts appear in searches.

Ah sorry, I hadn’t realised that. However, I can’t understand the problem here either. I can’t find an image for any of the posts in the Google search results. However, the images are included in the image search. Which search do you mean exactly? A screenshot from you would also help here. You are welcome to upload it here: https://imgur.com

the same applies to all the images in the post if I search for keywords they are supposed to rank for. Which works with older posts.

Ok, you mean the issue. Google has specifications for the conditions under which these are output. This is not something that WordPress can control itself. However, you can use SEO plugins such as Yoast or Rank Math to make optimisations in this regard.
