• Hello,
We are using WP 3.8 hosted by blue host.
We have the WP-Members plugin version 2.8.8.

We have just found out that some of our subscribers are NOT getting any of our email updates (i.e. new post notifications). There are three that we know of for sure. One has a verizon.net account and the other two are gmail. We do know of other subscribers that have Gmail that DO get the updates. Also, the emails do not appear to be going into any spam/junk boxes.

I have changed the email from which the emails are being sent from per the rocket geek FAQ site, but I’m not sure if this will make a difference. I wanted to check the forum before I bombarded my subscribers with another “testing” email.

    I would appreciate any help!

    Thanks,
    Tamar

While the plugin uses the WP function wp_mail to send mail, new post notifications are not generated by the plugin, so whatever the issue is that’s not where you are going to find it.

You probably need to troubleshoot wp_mail and how you are sending emails. You can set/change the “from” address via a filter. If you set it in the plugin’s settings, that only is for the emails from the plugin, which won’t affect new post notifications.

Here’s a post that will help you change the “from” address, and there are additional links on troubleshooting wp_mail issues.

Please check your host is not support mail() function

@phuongit2004 – in the case that NO users were receiving emails, that would make sense. But if you read the issue, some users are receiving emails fine and others are not. That would indicate that mail is supported.

The issue is more likely one of two things – either the hosts that were listed are rejecting because the domains don’t match (i.e. you are sending to look like it is coming from email@somedomain.com when the sending domain is actually email@otherdomain.com), or your emails don’t have a “from” address in the header (which wp_mail does not do by default – you have to add it yourself with a filter).
