New Post and New Category Not Working After Updating

I tried autoupdate and it failed.

Add new post stopped working. The header “add new” shows up and the save/publish dialog, but nothing else.

If I save a blank post, I can reedit it fine, but nothing shows up under the add new post form.

In all situations, “add new category” shows up, but no field.

I tried a manual update hoping to fix it, but it didn’t fix it.

I also looked for the maintenance file that I am supposed to delete when autoupdate fails, but didn’t see that. My autoupdate didn’t get very far when I tried.
