    A new version of the advanced search is available, see the release note.

    The new version features some fixes and improvements. Also, the plugin is now WordPress 2.1 ready.

    Hello Alex !

    Congratulation for your work ! It is great and with AdvancedSearch you made something I was looking for for a long time…

    It seems indeed to be a perfect and useful plugin, but unfortunately it does not work on my WordPress Weblog.

    As basketball, I also have a “WordPress database error” when I launch the search…

    Here down what WP returns :

    WordPress database error: [The used SELECT statements have a different number of columns]

    (SELECT SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS DISTINCT *, MATCH(extranet_posts.post_title, extranet_posts.post_content) AGAINST('informatique val-form') AS score FROM extranet_posts INNER JOIN extranet_post2cat ON extranet_posts.ID = extranet_post2cat.post_id WHERE MATCH(extranet_posts.post_title, extranet_posts.post_content) AGAINST('informatique val-form' IN BOOLEAN MODE ) AND post_date_gmt <= '2007-03-30 09:39:01' AND post_password = '' AND post_status != 'draft' GROUP BY extranet_posts.ID ORDER BY score DESC ) UNION (SELECT d.id AS ID, 1 AS post_author, d.date AS post_date, 1 AS post_date_gmt, 1 AS post_content, 1 AS post_title, 1 AS post_category, 1 AS post_excerpt, 1 AS post_lat, 1 AS post_lon, 1 AS post_status, 1 AS comment_status, 1 AS ping_status, 1 AS post_password, 1 AS post_name, 1 AS to_ping, 1 AS pinged, 1 AS post_modified, 1 AS post_modified_gmt, 1 AS post_content_filtered, 1 AS post_parent, 1 AS guid, 1 AS menu_order, 'doc' AS post_type, 1 AS post_mime_type, 1 AS comment_count FROM extranet_document d WHERE ( keywords LIKE '%informatique%' OR title LIKE '%informatique%' OR summary LIKE '%informatique%' OR authors LIKE '%informatique%' OR keywords LIKE '%val-form%' OR title LIKE '%val-form%' OR summary LIKE '%val-form%' OR authors LIKE '%val-form%' ) ) LIMIT 0, 20

    Thanks if you (or someone else) have an idea about it !

    It looks like another plugin is conflicting with Advanced Search. Everything after “UNION” in the query seems to be comming from somewhere else.

    Hum… I also thought about that, but I desactivated all other plugins and the problem remained.

    Oups sorry !

    azaozz is right : there’s indeed a conflict with this plugin : http://code.google.com/p/wp-publications-archive/

    I desactivated it and Advanced Search works well.

    Sorry for my previous and erroneous post…

    I know this topic is 6 months old. Yet I wonder if there is a new advanced search plugin or a plugin that searches based on relevance and has to ablitly to only search certian catagories?
