 * I have noticed with other plugins that there is a message in the admin area that
a new update is available but the current hosting does not support the required
   PHP version.
 * With the last update, it looks as though the minimum requirement was upped to
7.0 but the plugin updates (Automatically?) on servers running older versions.
 * This is just a suggestion for your update process.
I was hired to fix a website
that was down due to this update and have no control over their server to install
new PHP versions. I have suggested that they ask their admin to install 7.4.

 * Hello [@robwent](https://wordpress.org/support/users/robwent/)
 * Thank you very much for taking the time to report this issue here.
 * We will definitely look into this and see what options we have, to ensure this
   does not happen again.
 * Thank you and have a good day.

 * Same thing here, occurred with last update install, took the site down until
_WP Activity Log_ was deactivated. On that site we were running php 7.0 at that
time with _WP Activity Log_ and the Business plan. Deactivating the business
plan got it working and we then updated the site’s php to be 7.3.28 which seems
to be current enough to please.
 * Rest of site is fine but _WP Activity Log_ is no longer recording events. We
have an issue where it states: “There are connectivity issues with the database
where the WordPress activity log is stored. The logs will be temporary buffered
in the WordPress database until the connection is fully restored.” but this does
no seem to pass with time.
