# New password reset

 * I have been setting up a few blogs recently, all are the v 2.5.1, and with a 
   few I forgot the passwords and had to click on the “Lost your password? “.
 * When I get the email that tells me “To reset your password visit the following
   address, otherwise just ignore this email and nothing will happen.”
 * And click it, I get “Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid.”
 * This is happening to me each time I click and enter my email address.
 * I’ve since reinstalled WP and immediately reset my password to something I’ll
   remember, so it’s no longer an issue, but this seems to be a ‘bug’.

 * Bug is know, reported at trac on [ticket 6842](http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/6842).
 * In the meantime, use the [Resetting Your Password](http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password)(
   through phpMyAdmin) approach.

 * It seems this would be a priority to fix. Not every user is going to have access
   to the database to reset their own password. It looks to be a pretty simple issue,
   that they’d just need to exclude # from the generation process. Perhaps some 
   of the other special characters also.
