New Page Template doesn't link to CSS

  • I’ve just build my first custom page template. duplicating the index.php was pretty easy and I was able to do that and select it in the Page dropdown. However, when I preview that page, all the lovely style has gone and I just get text and links running down the left side of the page. I’m guessing there is a bad link to the CSS. Where can I fix this? Is there specific file(s) that govern this?

    Thank you

  • can you use http://pastebin.com/ to paste the code in your page? It will be easier for someone to help you. Also if you have a link to your site it will help as well.

    Here you go. Its not online yet.

    <?php
    /*
    Template Name: altpage
    */
    ?>
    get_header(); ?>
    <div id=”container”>
    <?php get_template_part( ‘loop’, ‘index’ ); ?>
    <?php get_sidebar(); ?>
    <div class=”clear”></div>
    </div><!– #container –>
    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    I’m just looking to make a basic alt page, with no sidebar
