    @handy,

    But that’s a valid seperator. I can’t change that or the service we are calling won’t accept it. :S The & in question is seperating the key=value pairs of url and title. The only way to do that is with a &. Let me try putting an &amp in there and see if it blows chow on my site.

    =C=

    Yep, & is very valid. But, my understand only…, if you want to validate xhtml you put it in the url as a &.

    Ok here, this link explains more concisely than I do: http://www.htmlhelp.com/tools/validator/problems.html#amp

    @handy,

    Ok, grab 1.4 and test that.

    =C=

    Bingo!

    It validates perfectly now 🙂 Of course, last time I fixed an ASP app to validate, it no longer worked… 😉 I’ll test ’em a bit now, but looking good.

    Thanks for your time on this — hope I wasn’t too much of a p.i.t.a.

    @handy,
    [soapbox]For the record what that URL describes, while perfectly valid is a problem with old browsers. It’s disingenuous if the html validator you are using is spitting out those simply because it doesn’t LIKE the code. Valid HTML isn’t a subjective thing and putting a & in a url is valid according to all the docs I’ve read.[/soapbox]

    That having been said, I’m always looking to make my code better and don’t want to cause anyone any problems with their site so I’m happy to continue to hunt this issue till we squash it. 🙂

    Followup: Users are never a PITA. 🙂

    Love the plugin, but I have another issue that hasn’t been discussed. The prepending of the tooltips works great in Firefox, but in IE when you mousover you only get “:POST_TITLE” instead of “digg:POST_TITLE”.

    Will yu be supporting IE?

    Thanks,
    Jason

    Jason,

    Just released version 1.5. Tooltips now work in IE. Thanks for pointing this out to me.

    Cade can be downlaoded form the Project Page.

    Awesome, just upgraded and I can confirm that the tooltips are working in IE. Perfect!

    ack

    Great plugin. I am though getting an error on the Options page, and need to figure out if it’s due to me changing the directory location or the fact that my install is in a sub-directory. It’s in the version check part, so doesn’t seem to be impacting much.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: val() in …wp-notable.php on line 191

    @ack,

    Fixed. 1.9 is now available. Cna you confirm that it fixes your problem?

    domfos

    (@domfos)

    I just installed this and get the following error:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: register_activation_hook() in websitehostingiq.net/wp-content/plugins/blogbling/wp-notable.php on line 384

    Any ideas.
    I’m on WP 1.5.2

    (@calevans)

    @domfos,

    Hmmmmm…I’m betting that’s a 2.0 function. I’ll work on it tonight and release a version that should work with 1.5.x

    (@calevans)

    @domfos,

    Ok, I changed things around a bit and it should be compatible with 1.5 now without losing any functionality.

    Can you download a copy of 1.10 from the project page and tell me if it works?

    =C=

    ack

    (@ack)

    Thanks Cal,
    You do fast work. Just installed 1.11 and fixed me up all good, so no problems with the latest version code on the Options page. If only all plugin coders had your level of support!
