    Hi!

I’m trying to understand how to change the default Home page for my WP Network.

I’ve just changed the single install of my WP site to a Network install (a.k.a. “multisite”?). I currently have just two blogs on the network—my original blog (A – which was in its own subdirectory) and a new blog (B). Now that the Network installation is complete, the home/landing page for the network site is still the original blog’s home/landing page (A).

How do I make the new blog (B) my site’s home/landing page?

Bump deleted. 6 hours. Are you really that impatient for free volunteers to help you out of the kindness of their hearts?

Same way you do it for regular WordPress. The main site on the network is the default home page for the site… All you’ve done is added in the ability to make more sites.

THAT is a complicated and annoying process. I would strongly suggest you do it by exporting and importing content, because the other way CAN be done, but will require some Database shenanigans.

Mia culpa. No offense was intended.

After spending the better part of six hours poring through different threads and not receiving any kind of response, I was simply trying to gauge the difficulty of the challenge at hand. To say the least, the discussions I’d found were unexpected.

That said, it does sound like it’s far more significant than I’d first thought.

Thank you for the kindness of your heart. It is appreciated.

Think of multisite as your adding the ability to borrow files to use on other sites, each of which is virtual and have their own database tables added to the original’s database. The original site remains unchanged and is the only real site in the installation. All the rest are just borrowing the files that are available on that original site.

    Thank you, Paul!

Yes, I’m beginning to understand how it functions.

In the end, I did decide to Export content, scrap the original site and begin with a clean installation. It’s been an interesting process. Some of the documentation I’ve found is wanting, but I’ve got enough of a bearing on all of this at this point to close this thread.

Thank you both for your assistance!
