Support » Plugin: Really Simple SSL » New ‘Missing Security Headers’ Issue in Version 4 of the Plugin

As a result of updating to version 4 of the plugin we now have a new issue in the ‘Site Health’ section of the dashboard – ‘Missing security headers’.

We use this plugin across a huge number of websites, it’s not feasible for us to have to manually update the htaccess file of every single one of those websites.

Why wasn’t this issue displayed in previous versions of the plugin?

    Hi @salpetriere,

We are continuously improving the plugin, this is one of those improvements: giving better feedback on the current status of the SSL security of a site. Security headers are a great way to improve the security of your site, without affecting site speed and performance. Because of the great improvement of security, I would recommend to take the time to add those headers to every site. Once set, it doesn’t need to be maintained anymore.

Alternatively, we are releasing a maintenance release today where you can use the “dismiss all Really Simple SSL notices” to dismiss the notice (4.0.2).

    Hope this helps!
