# New install – no visual

 * I have just installed 3.8.1 on a development local server. When I look at the
   2014 live preview I just see all words and HTML – any ideas what is wrong?

 * Hello. A few things you may want to try to help isolate the issue…
 * 1. Switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * 2. Resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin.
 * 3. Re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.
   php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that
   you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.
 * Let me know if that gets you anywhere.
