new install 2.3- no feeds working – “not found”

    I found out there is no feed when I went to burn the feed at Feedburner. I didn’t get far with that, it all getting 404-like not found.

    I checked the original)RSS icon on my page, it says “not available,” or words to that effect.
    Strangely, the feed for comments only *is* available.

    I am out of ideas for fixing this but I’m new enough not to have many ideas. Any help immensely appreciated.

    I currently have no plug-ins used for feeds, nor any widgets used. I am just trying to get any feed to exist / be located in the basic set up. Thank you.

    Of course, your feeds are there:

    You just have a permalinks issue! Don’t change them if you don’t know what are you doing. Raad first: Using_Permalinks

    May I impose one more question? Is 2.3 supposed to create .htacess files? Because this installation created none, and I am wondering if that is the way it should be or defective installation?

    No, it does not create it by default, only when you set the permalinks. However, if it is not able to do it, then it dispalys the code below on that page for you to be copied into a plain text file that you will make into .htaccess.
