# New instal

 * I am about to have GoDaddy do the install for me but would like the current (
   ugly) version of the site to remain in place until the new WP version is complete,
   is this possible maybe by simply renaming a file?

 * Would I be able to install to my local hard drive and build the site there and
   then upload to Godaddy thus leaving the old site in place? It looks like from
   your referral that a maintenance notice would go up instead of the old site remaining
   site place. Since I am new to WP it could take me awhile to learn to work with
   it and I would like to leave my old site up until ready if at all possible.

 * Yes, it is possible to set WordPress up the way you want it on your localhost
   using XAMPP or otherwise. Then transfer it to your host.
