    Hi,

I just switched my blog to a new hosting account (both on GoDaddy) and have uploaded all the WordPress files. In the process, I also upgraded the site from a very old version (I want to say 2.3 perhaps, or lower?) to the newest (2.8.5). I have the old database backups:~ abc1234567890.sql as well as mywebsite.sql. I tried just creating a new database, and importing those files into it. However, it looks like none of the tables from my backups are remotely like those in the DB information_schema. I also placed both of those previous DBs into the one new DB – so it now has 20 tables. information_schema has 22, and they are in all caps, and the old ones have the wp_ prefix (noted in the wp-config file). My site has the “Error establishing a database connection” error now and I wonder if I messed something up when I made the new DB and imported the files.

    What needs to happen now?
