Hi,
The map is indeed displaying the 50 most recent page views. We thought it would be confusing and just bad UX design to display hundreds of dots on the map. We are considering making the amount of dots a parametric value that admins can customize in the settings.
Keep in mind that you can always change the time range to see what the map looks like for another day.
Thank you for your feedback!
Jason
Thanks Jason,
Makes total sense. Seeing an extended period of time would be more of a investigative tool rather than something you would want to see all the time (it would be confusing and most likely take awhile to display.
A way to temporarily see a longer period (e.g. 30 days) would be useful. For example, the last time I had to do a proposal to expand digital advertising to a specific region based on website interest — I had to parse the raw server logs and create a bar chart in excel to backup up my assertion.
I am new to your product and have found it to be a useful tool beyond what I could achieve with regular web server statistics.
regards,
rdl
