Support » Plugin: WP Photo Album Plus » new gallery every month automatically

  • Resolved jennifer007

I would like to know if it’s possible to create automatically a new gallery every month, and using that last created gallery as the default gallery to upload for users?

    Thank you very much,

I will think about this new featue request to implement in a later version (not yet this week).

We must agree on how to detect the album. i.e. how do i (wppa) know what the current months album is.

Suggestion: Could be by a special album category (tag) like jan2019, feb2019 etc, but it would be your responsability to keep your hands off these tags.
If you have a better idea, pls tell me.

Thank you Jacob. A way I could see it, would be to create all the albums (for one year let’s say), and have a tab “album of the month”. We could add fields in it where we would specify which album will be used at a specific starting date.
An idea. Thanks again for your time Jacob!

    I would suggest:

    – Create the albums for each month. They will have you (admin) as owner.
    – Make the owner of the current months album: — public —
    – Tick TaAble VII-H1 and H2: User upload Photos and User upload Photos login
    – Make sure ‘owners only’ is active (Table VII-D1.2)
    – Activate the upload widget, leave the album selection box the default: — a selection box —
    – All logged in non-admin users can now upload using the frontend upload widget to this months album only, because this is the only one they can select.

What you have to do monthly is:
    – change the owner of last months album to yourself and of the next album to — public —

If you do not want a selectionbox with one selecction only, change the upload widget also every begin of the month by selecting this months album. In this case they can not select any album and will automatically upload to the album you selected there. Do not forget to set the album ‘open’ by setting the owner to — public —

    Thank you Jacob!
