Support » Plugin: Flexible Checkout Fields for WooCommerce » new field behaviour issue – showing on my account even if not filled in?

  • Resolved OptArt

    (@optart)

without extra field, for new user, I have under my account/edit address info that I haven’t set up my address yet.
with extra field added – I see this field label instead, even though value is not set there.
    how to solve?

    Hi @optart

Could you provide us some screenshots so we can better understand the issue you have encountered?

    Kind regards,

    before adding new field:

after adding new field with your plugin:

(as the field is empty, i’d expect no change there)

Thank you @optart for your answer and the more detailed explanation. I suppose the custom NIP field you created is treated by WooCommerce as an existing content, even if its value is empty. That’s why it’s not displaying the notice that was visible before.

but that shouldn’t happen – right? any solution?

I afraid it’s rather up to the way how WooCommerce treats the custom content in this place, than the Flexible Checkout Fields functionalities’ fault. Our plugin hooks into the WooCommerce source code and uses the same way for adding the fields the WooCommerce does. If the default WooCommerce billing address field value will be saved here I believe it will behave the same way and the notice will also disappear.
