Facebook share plug-in for WordPress which shows the number of times the post or page has been shared through out the Facebook just like tweetmeme button does for twitter.

Facebook has just released this new share button and you might have seen this on http://Mashable.com as they were one of the lucky Beta testers of Facebook share.

    * New - Facebook Share button which also shows count
    * Integrates the ability to share your post with one click
    * Shows the current number of times your post has been shared on Facebook
    * Analyze share counts, like counts, click counts, comment counts for your post across the Facebook.
    * Easily installation
    * Allows you to specify when the button should go (e.g. top or bottom)
    * Show it on Post or Page or Both

You can see more information here:

On Mashable’s site, in their post pages (not the home page), there’s a floating widget to the left of the content that descends as you scroll down below the fold, but doesn’t ascend above a certain point.

I’d love to replicate this, but their site is so clogged with code that I’m having a really hard time parsing apart the (javascript) scripting that’s controlling this.

Thoughts or any help identifying the moving parts?

Here's a widget that will automatically add the new Facebook like button (released on Apr. 21st 2010) at the top and/or bottom of your posts:

    Facebook Like WordPress Plugin

Feedbacks appreciated on this blog post while waiting for WordPress to approve it and move it to the directory.

(the blog actually uses it so you can test the plugin live before installing)

I installed this plugin in one of sites and it completely messed up the alignment in my posts. Take a look here:

Even after you removed the plugin the site's alignment still messed up. as a matter of fact we deactivated all the plugins to see if if other plugins were causing this problem

Has anyone had this problem before?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Got it working. There was an issue with some attributes in another div that was causing all the chaos.
