New facebook plugin for wordpress causes problems

When I install the new Facebook for WordPress plugin https://developers.facebook.com/wordpress/ it adds a new feature onto the bottom of each post, but then it does not integrate with the other comments that were made on the posts.

Here is an example:

It then blocks all the comments that were made before the facebook plugin was integrated from appearing on the blog post, and leaves an empty box at the bottom of the screen where the regular comments normally show. If I disable the new facebook plugin, the old comments show again.

This is not a bug of the Elegant themes system that I’m using, as it happens within the TwentyElven theme as well.

It’s a brand new plugin from Facebook, so I’m not sure if Facebook and WordPress teams are talking to each other, but this needs to be escalated.
