Before you ask: yes, you can edit currently installed language files. The problem arise when you want to ADD a language.

    Hi again.
I’m still totally unable to reproduce these session failures in my multisite test environment.

What I’ve done though is to add more catch blocks to reduce these full screen errors to Debug notices. That’s in the development trunk if you want to check it out.

Suppressing the errors will let you proceed, but obviously the session-dependant functionality won’t be available.

I want to get to the bottom of this, but I don’t know how to proceed on order to reproduce the issue. Is there any other piece of information about your setup that’s worth mentioning? Any clever frameworks or plugins that mess around with user login state?

The WordPress session API is virtually undocumented, but appears to use the “user metadata” api, which is shared across multiple sites, because users remain the same across multiple sites. Perhaps knowing this helps narrow it down?
