New Embeds Feature in WordPress 4.4

    Hello,

    I am trying to figure out how to copy over content from one WP site to another WP site both running 4.4.1. From what I read, I just need to drop the URL of the post from one site to the other. I do that placing the URL in the main content window in the text editor of the site where I want to add the post (I believe). I thought that was what it said to do (like when I drop youtube video links).

    Are there detailed instructions on this some where? I’ve been looking all over the site for the last hour but am unable to find instructions for this. Is there a plugin I need to add or something?

    You simply place the URL of a single post or page from a site running WordPress 4.4.x into the post or page content from another site running WordPress 4.4.x.

    What is the URL of the post you’re trying to embed?

    Try simply pasting that URL:

    http://www.scienceandtechnologyresearchnews.com/breakthrough-achieved-in-ceramics-3d-printing-technology/

    into your page content. Don’t modify it, format it, align it, or link it in any way. Just paste it in.

    Thanks James. I copied your link above and it posted a partial article with a link by to my original site. I had hoped it would have produced an exact copy with entire article and the title and feature image in their respective places. Is that possible?

    Oh goodness no, then you’re basically just stealing content instead of embedding. 😉

    The WordPress post embed was deliberately designed to be excerpt only.

    fYI, I am posting press releases which are available for fair use. Not stealing anything. Just wanted to be clear.
