Hi there,
I’ve just had a look at my local testing website and *both* versions are included:

Moreover, the code itself also caters for BYR and BYN as can be seen in this link: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/blob/master/includes/wc-core-functions.php#L361-L362

I’m not familiar with WOO yet and just installed it. So, you right, there are both Belarusian rubles in drop down menu. But with the “new ruble” there are still Br on the product page:

I appreciate github link, and I see BYN there, but how can I use it? All that i found at that time is that I should use additional code in functions.php, better in child theme:
https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/change-a-currency-symbol/
If it only one option, i will do it.

It sounds like there might be some confusion here – Based on the Wikipedia article you shared, the currency denotation is *still* “BR”.
The only difference between the old Ruble and the new Ruble is its ISO code, which has indeed changed from “BYR” to “BYN” and is also reflected in the code as such.
With that said, if you’d like to change “BR” for some reason, you could try the following using the link you shared:
add_filter('woocommerce_currency_symbol', 'change_existing_currency_symbol', 10, 2);
function change_existing_currency_symbol( $currency_symbol, $currency ) {
switch( $currency ) {
case 'BYN': $currency_symbol = 'BN'; break;
}
return $currency_symbol;
}

Thanks, there are really confusion in using Br and BYN, so now I know how to change it to more popular version in 2020: BYN. Thanks.
