[resolved] New blog and upgrades not working (3 posts)

Two blogs I've recently upgraded to 3.0 have had massive problems and another I've tried to set up as a brand new install has failed miserably and I can't figure out what is happening.

    I'm using cpanel 11.25 and php 5.2.9.

The new site I installed is http://family.thomases.org - it shows completely blank. If I login to the wp-admin it comes up with stuff like this:

' . __('Welcome to your WordPress Dashboard! You will find helpful tips in the Help tab of each screen to assist you as you get to know the application.') . '

    ' . '
' . __('The left-hand navigation menu provides links to the administration screens in your WordPress application. You can expand or collapse navigation sections by clicking on the arrow that appears on the right side of each navigation item when you hover over it. You can also minimize the navigation menu to a narrow icon strip by clicking on the separator lines between navigation sections that end in double arrowheads; when minimized, the submenu items will be displayed on hover.') . '

The same has happened for a blog I upgraded at http://teamsally.thomases.org which is on the same server and domain.

Another blog I upgraded is on a different server and domain but I also had major problems with that and had to muck around a lot to get it working.

Are there known problems with 3.0? The hosts I use only have that version currently available for use.

Did you follow these instructions to manually upgrade your WordPress installation: http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress

Yes, however I've now found out that there was an added Mime Type called x-mapp-php5 in cpanel which also edited the htaccess file and this had disabled php from operating which is why it wasn't working.

All sorted now - well, mostly.
