New 5.6 update – Home page in tact but can not open any pages

I have an inline magazine. I have updated to the new 5.6 – the website is intact, however, when you try to enter a page or category all I can see is a white, blank page with an X on the right-hand side.

I have deactivated all plugins and reactivated them, this has made no difference.

Any ideas would be appreciated?

Hi! You have a compatibility problem with the new version of a jQuery library in WordPress core.

This is a temporary solution:

The proper solution should ben from theme (or a plugin) in which Swipebox lightbox is used.

Hello Olga,
Thank you for your reply, unfortunately, the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper plugin has not made any difference.
I have searched for a plugin for Swipebox lightbox, could you recommend one?

It would seem that all my content is still there ok. It’s the linking that does not work.

@womentalking Your site seems fine to me. Categories seem to work okay, as do all the articles. Can you say how to see this error that you’re describing?

Hello Samuel,

I am now pleased to say the website has been rectified.

It was actually the theme that had not been updated, that created the problems with the new 5.6 download. I feel pretty foolish, however, a lesson learned.
