Neve v. 2.3.5 broke widgets
-
The most recent Neve update broke front-end footer widgets. Deactivating all plugins did not help.
Switching to Twenty Nineteen theme, the single footer widget reappears, but no matter what I do, all footer widgets are gone when Neve is activated.
Footer widgets appear and act normally in the back-end, but nothing appears on the front-end on any page.
Please advise ASAP

I have the same problem – just updated to 2.3.5 and the footers all disappeared. Like the first poster my footers remained in the back-end but did not show on the front-end
Rolled back to 2.3.4 and the footers have returned.
@rodicaelena, see links for images below.
Note that I tried taking those widgets out, using different widgets, replacing them, etc. Nothing brings back the front-end widgets except changing themes. Thanks.

Hi @digigirl and @petermccluskey,
Thank you for the details. The latest update of Neve has a new header/footer builder that allows for a much more advanced builder experience. It seems like there is a problem when migrating the footer widgets, but it can be fixed quickly. You need to go to Appearance > Customize > Footer and add the Footer components in the builder https://prnt.sc/nd73sg.
You can find more details about this in the documentation https://docs.themeisle.com/article/946-neve-doc.Let me know if that helps.
Regards,
RodicaThank you for the prompt assistance @rodicaelena. I did figure it out and it now seems to be working. However, you might want to let your team know that this is not very intuitive. Your instructions page needs a video showing how to drag & drop as the written instructions don’t make it clear what is needed. And the first couple of times I tried to drag & drop it didn’t work because I didn’t drop in exactly the right place.
Thanks again.
Valerie
Hi @digigirl,
I’m happy to hear everything is ok now. For sure, we will work on improving the experience with the builder and make sure we create more advanced documentation about this. Thank you very much for your feedback. It’s highly appreciated.
Regards,
Rodica
