Support » Plugin: Advanced Ads – Ad Manager & AdSense » Neve Theme: ads not showing (Desktop) & Sidebar only on homepage

    I have two problems which might be connected somehow;

    1. Adsense ads aren’t showing – ‘Advanced Ads’ says the problem is this: “ad is placed in a container that has a float CSS rule and therefore won’t show up since AdSense can’t determine the available size. Your theme developer should know how to fix it.”

    2. I have a sidebar with n ‘Advanced Ads’ widget in there (I also manually added the adsense code), but the sidebar only shows on the homepage, even after adding the ‘Widget Options’ plugin and trying to make it visible on every page, it’s still not showing up.

    Any suggestions??

    Thanks everyone!

    Hi @algaib,

    thanks for reaching out.

I cannot see a connection between both issues so let’s handle them one by one.

    1. I would need to see that in order to say where it comes from. Would you mind sharing a link?

    2. Using widget options would not help if the theme developers did not add the ability to show a sidebar into a particular template. There is nothing I can do about that unless you want to place the ad using the Custom Position placement.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

    1. The ad in the sidebar in question is on http://lessonflows.com/ – the advanced ad plugin allows you to highlight the ad and it shows as a tiny little square

    2. The sidebar is present on the homepage and all other pages were made from duplicating the original which wasn’t even using a template from the theme. Hopefully someone out there knows about adding sidebars to every static page on a Neve theme!

    Thanks again

    Thanks for the link.

I believe that the problem is caused by the AdSense ad and your sidebar being responsive. Responsive AdSense ads adjust to the available size of the parent element. With your sidebar not having a fixed width, the AdSense ad does not know how large it could be and so does not show anything.

You could convert your Responsive ad to a fixed-sized ad unit (e.g., 160xy600) or put some content that is not responsive to the sidebar to force it to be wider.

Regarding #2: you could ask the theme developer.

    Best regards,
    Thomas

Setting the ad size in adsense worked! Thanks so much for your help!
