Network Admin Rights GONE
-
Hello,
I spent some time searching around the forums before deciding to post. I hope someone can help with the issue I’m having, without having to nuke my site and start over.
Essentially, I don’t have network admin access using my admin login. This is for a site that I setup from scratch through cPanel (setup originally as a multisite/network site) roughly 12 months ago. Everything has been working fine, until now.
It’s been a few days since I logged into my site to check up on updates, etc. When I did try to login earlier today, I was not able to login with my usual username (algavi5). I tried the “forgot password” link with that username, but the box returned a “no such user” error message. I tried to retrieve the password using my email address and found that the username had been changed to “admin”
I have not made any changes to user settings or permissions at all since creating the network roughly 12 months ago. No one else has access to the back-end or admin areas of my site…to the best of my knowledge.
I think WP automatically upgraded to 3.8.2 recently, I’m not sure if that upgrade has anything to do with this issue, or if it’s just a coincidence.
I’ve searched through the database in phpMyAdmin to see if I could find something out of the ordinary, but have had no luck. I compared database files with another WP Network that I manage (it’s working fine), but I was unable to find any differences.
Can anyone help shed some light on this for me? Thanks!
