Assuming I have multiple wordpress sites with structure as following:

    A
    — wp-admin
    — wp-includes
    — wp-content
    — B
    — C
    — D

Here A B C D are all WordPress sites, do I need to install WordFence on all of them or do I need to install it on site A only for securing the entire A folder?

  • Hi Edward,

Although Wordfence web application firewall (WAF) can protect your sub-directories websites as well, also you can enable “Scan files outside your WordPress installation” option so the scanner will include your other sites in the scan, it’s recommended to install Wordfence on these sub-directories websites to get the benefit of other features (like Login Security, Rate Limiting etc…). One advice here is to optimize the firewall on the sites in sub-directories first, then on the main site “A” in your case.

    Thanks.
