• I upgraded to 3.2.1. When adding a new post, I can’t create nested unordered lists. Essentially, whether I use the Visual or HTML editor, it tries to close out my UL before I’m actually done, thus upsetting the formatting. Can be seen at http://www.cisdiveteam.com/ . Originally I entered in Visual. Got the issue. Switched to HTML. Correcting the issue wouldn’t “stick” – wordpress would remove my edits and go back to the formatting it wanted. I went so far as to delete the post, and start over, typing everything in as HTML. Same result. Any suggestions?

  • Go into the visual editor. Select say the bullet list. Type your first list item in.

Then, to start a new nested list, hit return and then click on the right indent button. Then a new list will appear. To continue with the first list, click on the left indent.

That is what I did the first time I created the list. However, when I publish, it appears that WordPress is re-matching and adding the opening/closing tags, throwing off the nesting of the list. When I go into the Visual Editor, I can see where they are added, and I remove them to fix the nesting. On publish, they get added back in, breaking the nesting again.

Thanks so much. Turning off this setting, then re-editing the post, fixed the issue.
