I do not understand what you are complaining about.
The worst thing that can happen to a plugin is that it goes unmaintained, and people complain about that. Then when a plugin is maintained, people complain as well. We can’t ever do it right, can we?
This plugin was rewritten about a year ago. If you are worried about programming quality, check on an old version. This thing was resurrected and needed a lot of work. A lot of features have been requested and have been added.
And this plugin is all user-interface. Did you ever write a plugin that is mostly user-interface? It will never be really done. It will always need updates.
If you can point me to a plugin that is far more complex and only needs updates every couple of months, I can probably point you to a plugin that is unmaintaned or close to it.
