Support » Plugin: Search Regex » Neither inline edit nor replace link on results working

  • This plugin looked perfect to fix mixed-content warnings after migrating a site to ssl. Images in existing posts and pages have the complete <img> tag with src=”http://&#8221; in the database. I need to change the scheme on the src attribute for all images on those existing posts and pages.

My regex and replacement patterns both look fine. The plugin correctly displays results that show all of the matches and what all of the replacements would be. However I like to be conservative in actually making changes so I wanted to manually change one or two results and confirm proper changes to the database.

However I was unable to do this. Clicking the “Replace” link beside the individual results did not work (did nothing), nor did clicking the highlighted search or replace patterns open an inline edit box.

  • I have this problem, too. I see posts in this forum going back 3 years, describing the same issue. It’s unfortunate that the replace capability doesn’t work, because it really would save tons of time! Instead, I have to click the “edit” link beside each found occurrence, manually find and change the word (error prone!), then update the post and use the browser’s back button to return to the list to find the next item. 🙁
