  • Have been using this plugin for a photographer client. It has been an interesting experience.

There is a lot of potential for the plugin and it appears that some paid functionality in the extensions is being brought into the plugin which is good.

Thankfully the support team have been quite responsive as I’ve found issues/and things that weren’t working as expected.

Overtime I think this will be a better plugin and I’m prepared to update this review as it improves.

Right now some of the gotchas are:

    – no way to specify which countries you want to support
    – changes to css/plugin helper functions (i.e. list of countries/states) have to be manually copied with each plugin update
    – limited functionality for controlling order of images in a collection
    – you can password protect collections but if you click “continue shopping” in the checkout process it takes you back to a screen that merges all the collections and bypasses the password you’ve set on the collection!

Thanks for the feedback. Sell Media is still a pretty new plugin and we’ve already made some dramatic improvements. We have more improvements planned, some of which you’ve noted above.

    1. Just so I’m clear: You only want to sell downloads to specific countries? Or are you referring to our “Reprints” extension?
    2. Have you tried creating an extension so you don’t have to manually patch your mods with each update? Any modifications to plugin files should be done using hooks and filters or in your theme files.
    3. We added a setting so images can be sorted by Date (ascending), Date (descending), Title (ascending) and Title (descending).
    4. This is how most shopping carts work: Return to the archive containing all items if the cart is empty. What page are you suggesting you’d like potential customers to return to if their cart is empty?
