Support » Plugin: Docxpresso » Needs to import formated text

  • The plugin installs easily and does exactly as advertised and the document appears in the post perfectly formated. Unfortunately all you see in the editor is the shortcode.

I would, however, find it more useful if there was an option, or a version, that actually pasted the converted file in to the WP post or page.

One of the things lacking in WP is the possibility to easily enter formated text. This goes part of the way there but if I then want to insert images into the text I can’t do it because it just inserts the shortcode for the document.

    Dear Fredlegs,

The point of the plugin is that all the editing and formatting goes into the Word document. The formatting is shown to the end user as desired without the need to ever edit the HTML.

This, of course, may not be exactly what you are looking for but is what is offered by the plugin.

Thank you for your reply Eduardo.

It is indeed a clever plugin but since I am working with an artist there is the need to insert images from the Gallery or the Media Library.

If ever you decide to do a version which converts directly to HTML and can be edited in the WP visual (or text) editor please let me know.

    Dear Peter,

if you could embed teh link to the media files in the document would that be good enough?

It is not possible right now but I do not believe that it would be to complicated to implement…

    Dear Peter,

If you copy the link of a media element in your WP installation and insert it into the document via insert > quick parts > field > include picture and you copy the url and check the checkbox “data not stored in the document” you will have a live link to the corresponding media both in the document and in the plugin rendering.

I do not know if this will serve your purpose but you can always give it a try 🙂

    Eduardo
