Needs help with a lot of different issues
It’s my first time trying to set up a wordpress site so I don’t know what I’m doing. If this isn’t the right place to ask my question, can you point me towards somewhere I could get helped? Basically I have installed wordpress, bought a theme (ThemeForest ‘Invictus’), and started to try and figure out how it all works. I have uploaded images, created pages, etc but nothing is ‘appearing’ where I expect in the website. Now I am getting messages such as “Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/elliec25/public_html/wp-content/themes/invictus_2.6.52/doitmax_fw/max_posts.php on line 141″ and “Whoops can’t seem to find any galleries” even though I’m pretty sure I have 2 galleries set up. Also when I tried to edit the front page earlier it said my front page was in the Trash, and now it’s back… Arghhh! I am so lost. I didn’t know uploading a couple photos to an online portfolio was going to be so complex. So my question is: What should I do now? Where can I get help? Any good samaritan on this forum can help me figure this out?
Thanks a lot in advance…
P.S. I’m sure you’ve figured that out by now but i’m very computer-challenged and I don’t know what php, supercache, fcp and all that means so please be very clear in your answer if you can…
This might be a good place to start for general WordPress info:
We can answer additional questions about how WP works, but for theme-specific information and help, you’ll need to contact the developer – as commercial themes are not supported here – but it is part of what you pay for on TF.
If you’re getting errors like:
/home/elliec25/public_html/wp-content/themes/invictus_2.6.52/doitmax_fw/max_posts.php on line 141
I would suggest that you ditch the theme fores theme and instead use a free WordPress theme from the WordPress repository.
The themes on WP are very well vetted and coded well and we know them well (not all obviously, but at least we can download them ). We can’t help with TF themes because we would have to buy them.
It’s better as well to start with a simple theme like 2012 or 2011 just to learn who WordPress works.
