The blog looks ok. The header is probably a bit boring for a blog in this niche.
I guess users expects a bit of glam factor..
The seo looks like its covered.
The title is good and have keywords, you use alt tags on images, and use keywords in H1 tags….
I see you use all in one SEO and it covers the basic SEO, but I prefer WordPress seo by Yoast witch have a lot of great SEO features..
I would have gotten rid of these wigets at the end of the sidebar.

Directory submission is a linkbulding getting less and less important. And in 2011
its only a few that gives any value at all.
I would go for comment links,forum links, and guest post links instead.(without spamming offcause)
