Needing Major Archiving Help

  • Hi,
I’d like my archives page to look a certain way, and believe me, I tried everything I possibly could after reading dozens of posts on this forum and elsewhere, but every time I find something new it seems to conflict with the rest. This is driving me crazy as WordPress is really different from regular html/php pages that I am used to editing.

Anyways, this might be long and not too clear so please bare with me 🙂

I’ve decided to use WordPress for my client’s website, they are a newspaper and they have tons and tons of articles in their archives. I first started using the Super Archives Plugin, which I thought worked fine. However, I realized that plugin didn’t work on some older versions of IE and definitely not on Mac.

That’s why I would like to add a link on the atchives page to a second archive page for old IE and Mac users which would display a list of Years and Months, and the month link would expand/collapse a list of entry titles with their respective dates.

Is that even possible? If not how do I get an archive that will display years and months and then a different page for each month?

Thanks to whomever manages to understand what I’m saying and could help.
