    Hi there,

I have a single image loading when people go to my domain i.e. index.html. However I want to people to see my WP site that is still under construction. I remember in the old days (i.e. 3-4 years ago 🙂 ) you could just go to http://www.yourdomain.com/index.php and it would load the WP site. When I try to do that now it keeps loading the HTML file, I have also tried a HTM file with the same result.

Is it possible to view the WP site with a HTML index page?

    Thanks

Just try renaming the index.html file to something else and then visiting your domain dot com (provided that your WP installation is at the root level and not in a sub-directory).

Thanks Bill. I am aware of that.
I am trying to show the site to people without it being “live”.
So the general public would still see the index.html but I could give the index.php link and they would see the site.
Don’t know if that is possible anymore?

You can move the wordpress site to a sub folder and access it using the sub folder name. When ever you want to make your wordpress site live then you can move it back to the root folder
