WordPress Simple Paypal Shopping Cart
[resolved] Need to update database upon successful purchase (4 posts)

So I have installed this simple shopping cart on my wordpress blog, and everything works perfectly. The one thing I want to do is on "successful purchase" is update a database with some information. At most simple I would like to just add +1 to the number of orders so I can keep track of how many people have completed an order. At most advanced I would like to send the information about the purchaser (i.e. email address, address, first / last name, etc).

For the first option, I imagine the easiest way to do this would be to edit the sendmail function, and just add a script to update a database by adding 1 to a number. This is not ideal but is fine for what I am doing.

For the second more complicated option, I imagine I would have to go through paypals IPN in order to retrieve the info about the buyer. Is this hard to do?

    Thanks for any input.

Hi, if you have some PHP coding knowledge it shouldn't be hard to do. The file that handles the ipn is paypal.php. You will find it in the root directory of the plugin.

I see there is a list of the orders in the wordpress dashboard >> cart orders. Where can I access this database? I can't seem to find it on the main wordpress database.
