I just upgraded from 2.0.3 to 2.0.4. After I upgraded, I saw at the bottom of my admin pages that it automatically said “2.0.4”. I remember in past upgrades I had to first run wp-admin/upgrade.php before that took effect…

So, my question is should I run wp-admin/upgrade.php? I have not run it yet because the instructions say to just overwrite the files… my blog seems to run well without running wp-admin/upgrade.php, but maybe I am leaving a big hole in 2.0.4… please advise!

    tks!

  • You can run it as many times as you want — it won’t break anything.

The reason that you didn’t need to run it after upgrading is because 2.0.4 was a file only fix, i.e. no database format changes were made.
