[Resolved] Need to install slideshow on page, codes not working

  • slideshow_deploy id=Amazon Jungle Rescue

I read through the forum and found a similar question as mine. The answer was to use the code displayed above. However, all this does is enter the text near the top of the page. On this page (Amazon Jungle Rescue) I want to have all the photo images put into a slideshow instead. I have already made a slideshow titled “Amazon Jungle Rescue”. I am new to all this, so any help would be appreciated. Also, once I get the slideshow installed and working, I will want the width to be about 6″ across, or at least 3 times wider than the 200 pica width of my widget side column. Where do I enter the number “600 pica”? Thanks.

The shortcode only accepts a numeric ID, which means you can only enter the id of your slideshow after ‘id=’. The piece of shortcode is given on each slideshow settings page and has the corresponding ID already filled in.

Also, a shortcode should always have square brackets around it. Otherwise WordPress won’t recognize it as such and just print the string like it does in your case. The shortcode should look something like this: [slideshow_deploy id=1]

The width of the slideshow can be set on the slideshow settings page at the ‘Width of the slideshow’ setting.

I did exactly as you instructed, found the official ID number, and Voila! Works like a dream! In fact, I even went back to photoshop and resized more of the photos so they all fill the new 480 pica space perfectly.

    Thanks for your help.
My next challenge will be inserting video into the slideshow, but I’m sure I have lots of editing in front of me to make the videos a compliant file format

I’m glad to hear it works!

Inserting video slides is not that hard. Slideshow can embed YouTube videos and you only need the YouTube video ID.
