• I have a site developed and live using Expand2Web SmallBiz template, but still consider self new and lots of questions. Most important right now are: 1)Should I have local installation of WP on computer for making edits? I created all through dashboard setup by host (ReadyHosting), but now being told it should be installed on local computer for backup purposes and for edits. AND 2) set up on Microsoft server, but told it should be in Linux and that issues I’m having (including excruciatingly slow within dashboard and even on live site) would be resolved if on Linux server. Should I have it moved to Linux server and how do we do that without interruption of the site itself? Thank you for help.

    – you do not need local install of WP on your own computer to work/edit your live, hosted site.
    – backups can (and should) be made, but do not require a local install to do so; just save the backup files to your computer.

    2.
    – yes, a Linux host is preferred
    – you will have to discuss with your host how to do that without interruption; some will moved everything over, some will not.
    – for moving your site from one host (windows) to another (Linux), have a read through this:
