    Hello midlandsonlinemedia,

If you use some plugin for caching of your website, then it’s can be a problem. Just clean cache on your web hosting.

Also, you may check the web browser cache on your computer.

As I can see, you use “WP-Super-Cache” plugin. You must clear the Cache generated by this plugin.

Hello, I have the same problem.
My browser cache is emptied each time I close the browser. To be sure, I removed all temporary files. Restarted the browser and opened my site. And there the counter was again.

I am not using any plugin for caches.

Could you please give me the details on how to get rid of the icon and almost more important, the information is not sent over to you anymore.

    With kind regards,
    JayJay.

p.s. the counter still works on http://cornwallcaravan-holidays.co.uk/

    Hi

I have cleared the cache several times, I also installed a different cache plugin to see if that works but it doesn’t.

I really need help with this as its causing a real problem with this site because the stats that are showing are out of date and do not reflect an accurate visitor count because your plugin has been disabled.

    Thanks

Also, this is not just down to the browser, its showing on all types of devices and browsers

A similar issue, I had to deactivate your plugin because when activated, it showed up multiple times at the bottom of my browser. Now I’m left with a “<\/body>” at the bottom of my page that I see no matter what device I view it from and whether or not I empty the cache. Please help.

Is any authors responding to this thread?

I now have two stats counters from you on my website

If I dont get a fix for this in 24 hours I will need to report this to WordPress, the load time has increased on the site by up to 10 seconds while it waits for the counter to connect to your site

Right guys, the plugin injects code into the themes footer.php file

They would have known that and its a pity they just couldn’t point it out

    Hope this helps

I’ve analysed the plugin, and yes, it adds the stats code directly to the theme’s footer.php file. You’ll have to edit that file and remove the code from the end of it. It should be surrounded by HTML comments that look like the following:

    <!-- start counter24 --> <!-- end counter24 -->

Plugins should not be doing this sort of thing, so I have emailed the plugin authors about this problem.
