# Need to decrease space between header and content

 * Hi. I need to decrease the space between the header and content on my site. I’ve
   seen this question a number of times here but have not been able to resolve the
   issue. I’m using Chrome, theme is 2012, and I’m formatting the theme with Impact
   plugin. Here is the site: [http://northidahocvma.org/](http://northidahocvma.org/)

 * That is not the original default theme. Do not edit the Twenty Twelve theme. 
   It is the default WordPress theme and having access to an **unedited** version
   of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues. First [create a child theme for your changes](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes).
   Or install a [custom CSS plugin](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=custom+css).

 * I’m using Impact Page Builder, which has custom style css in its template builder.
   Can I make the necessary changes through impact, and if so, what code do I need?

 * Is that the only place you’ve made changes? If you’ve modified theme files at
   all, that should be done in a child theme?

 * I haven’t made any permanent changes. I tried several suggestions from others
   but reversed them when they didn’t work. So my issue remain…
