Which ever one suits the look and feel that you’re going for and is able to be modified beyond that to give you what you want.
The reason that every answer here seems the same is because they really are all the same. The answer to everyting is “If that’s what suits your site”. If a pluign does what you want, use that. If a theme does what you want, use that. Even with car yards, things vary between sites and each one will have slightly different needs to the next one so there’s no one-size-fits-all for this (or any other type of site). It’s really up to you to do yor research about what functionality the sites really needs, and see what combination of theme and plugins can give you that.
There’s also the option of writing your own custom theme or luign to make your system really your own. That can be useful in many circumstances as well.

This is a support forum, and it’s really not the place for “mentoring”. When you have a question you can ask here and many people will be able to help you out, so in my opinion that’s better then having just one person to rely on for everything.
