Need To Add Code To Home Page – Where Is It??

  • I am an EXTREME novice to this so I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question. I am setting up Gmail for businesss at work and to validate my domain they want me to cut and paste a piece of code into my home page.

When I go to admin panel and select pages I don’t see a “home page”. My site is http://www.ptes-inc.com. The theme I have now goes to my blog posts when you type this url into search window. When I look at the url for this page in my admin panel it is NOT http://www.ptes-inc.com. ??? I assume there must be a http://www.ptes-inc.com somewhere. Isn’t that always the home page of a domain?

Where do I find http://www.ptes-inc.com so I can paste the code? I am comfortable viewing the HTML and putting it in the right spot but I can’t locate the page in there anywhere.

Anyone’s help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your home page is a page of posts. This does not exist as a real Page but is generated on-demand by WordPress using your theme’s index.php template file. You will probably need to edit your theme’s header.php template file.
