Need right search words to find the right WP Theme/template

I have not used wp in about 6 years, so am a bit rusty. I am a primary school teacher and want to use WP to communicate with my students families. I know that as soon as I start using this, the other teachers in my office will also want to use it.

My question: I am looking for words to use as search terms to find a template. I am certainly open to links of websites that have this kind of theme/template.

On the main page I want to display a slideshow of photos of the students. I need to have as many as 9 links, one for each department, and each link should have a photo as well as a pull down menu associated with it. The photo is most likely going to be a photo of the teacher. In a couple of months it is likely that I will need to install a forum as well.

What words should I use to search for this kind of theme/template?
